Hello All
I'm fairly new to ford trucks having bought my first in April. I have a question. I got a leak that fills the basins of my intake manifold with a gassy-smelling oil. Is it the intake manifold gasket or the valve cover gasket that usally leaks like this? Ol Blue has a 360, If I'm going to have to pull the intake is it better to go with a alum. aftermarket manifold? I'm not trying to build a stockcar, just a good old depenable truck with good mileage.
Thanks
The leak is coming, most likely, from the valve stem seals. Then the oil gets carried to your air cleaner by the PCV and oil breather from the right and left hand valve covers. Then leaks down from the carb. to intake.
I have the same type of problem with my truck. I am going to do the intake gasket and valve stem seals at the same time. Probably switch to the Edelbrock aluminum intake too.
