Might I recommend getting yourself an engine rebuild book, they genearlly cover everything from the pulling to the rebuild to the replacement. Your big issue is whether the hoist will clear the motor from the engine bay... Start with removing the radiator and work your way back. If you pull the motor with the trans attached, you need to get the engine really up in th air. As far as the accessories, they can stay mounted up. I usually like to pull from the front of one head and the back of the opposing head. I have also removed heads and pulled right from the head bolt holes.
When we pulled our IH 392, we took off the intake and used the back left and front right bolt holes (like Mike G said). We also left the transmission in the truck for now...because it was easier just to take out the motor, then both of them at once. Just make sure you have everything (wires, hoses, bolts, ect...) disconnected before you start lifting. The engine mounts should be the last thing you unbolt.
You will of course have to removed your hood, unhook fuel lines, power steering pressure line, radiator, ground wires if u have them, throttle linkage, and starter cables, motor mounts, and all tranny bolts (6 i think). When you pull the motor you need to pick it up from one back side and an oppostie front side (you can run a chain from the exhaust manifolds if you like). To seperate the motor from the tranny you need a small jack to raise the tranny w/ the motor to take out the angle of pulling up on the motor...........it will help it go from -_- to --- so the tranny imput shaft has no wieght or pressure on it, stand by w/ a pry bar to gap the motor and bell housing once the motor is clear of the cross member.
