LOL, and these cab-over ones are my "small" horns :-)
Another collector made a recording of me driving by him blowing my larger horns at the Altoona horn and whistle event last year. This is what it sounds like from the side of the road:
The echos were great, as this was late at night with nobody but us horn collectors around. Those with really good hearing might pick up the guy at the end saying "well, that's got a bigger bite than a train horn". The horns in this clip are the white ones you see on the front page of my website (http://www.shiphorns.com)
Care to offer up a suggestion for 12V horns on my heavily modded 48? Anyone try new after market like Hella, PIAA, Bosch. Saw some great looking stainless marine horns but concerned about the sound.
I know the original will work but that's NOT an option.
Tim
Here is a link I found on airraid's website. Lots of horns and sound bites. I think you will find what you are looking for here.
The "Omega AH-300" truck train horns on eBay are the Wolo Cannonball Express at a cheaper price. They're all coming from the exact same factory in China. You get what you pay for, they are not nearly as well made as the Grover Products 3-chime horn, and both the horn throats and the diaphragms are a little smaller (so not as loud or low as the Grovers):
Of course, the real locomotive horns on this last webpage are all louder and richer sounding than either of the chrome horns. The Wolo and Grover horns sound a little tinny and squeaky when compared side by side with a Nathan K3.
Indeed, a lot of sites that use frames will not load properly within the Ford Truck frameset. Usually, if you click the "Remove Frame" link near the logo, you'll be OK. But yes, very annoying.
