Those of you hauling wide body fifth wheels what do you use for mirrors? I have a superduty with the extendable mirrors but with my new toyhauler(dragged it home about a week and a half ago) they still dont seem to go far enough. I cant see down the side of the trailer at all. I can see into the next lane to see if there are people there but cant see the tires if one were to blow. Backing is kind of a pain too since you cant see where to cut the trailer so the wheels hug the corner. The trailer is a 40 footer so i know thats part of this issue but just driving down the freeay or road I cant see. What is the best way to fix this? I was ready to buy the c-betr mirros especially for the superduty but they go between the regular mirror and truck so dont think this will help me at all. Are people using mirros that extend even further than stock?? All ideas welcome.... Thanks, Eric
Well, I bought some west coast junior mirrors from www.jcw.com. I am not sure I like the cheese at all so I have not installed them. Especially since i have to drill the door in wierd locations. If I did not have to worry about folding them in I think I would go with full Western mirrors with a 7" round on the inside of the 8x16.
http://www.velvac.com/mirrors.htm They have no-drill mirrors that people use on ambulances and box trucks. Many chassis cabs have factory towing mirrors replaced with these during upfitting.
