I have had headers on all of my old ford trucks and I have always hd problems with the headers on a FE and a C6, I can't seme to find a way to get the starter out with out taking the header of and I have a feelint it will be the same on my new one if I go with hooker like I always have. Does any one know a brand that makes a shorty, or a header that will give me plenty of room to work on stuff with a full leingth header? Preferibly fairly cheep I just want the moter to exhail beter for longer life not for any preformance reasons. I will be thankful for any direction I am pointed in.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-Dec-02 AT 11:12 AM (EST)]Check out Sanderson FF427, found out about from stephenw, check previous threads (332-428FE forum and in exhaust forum). I haven't got them yet should be here Thurs or Friday, and I'll know if and how they work.
But, I do reccomend you pay the extra price for headers. It's worth the expense, in my opinion. I've got some that are not cheap, but are not Stan's or Sanderson's either. Around $250, and still more trouble than they are worth.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-Dec-02 AT 01:24 AM (EST)]I'm was just wondering if that particular header #ff427 fits the stock FE head? I see that you have the Ed heads. Do they have the same size and location as the stock 360/390 heads? I have stock heads. I'm just curious. I checked out the web site and they look pretty quality. Let us know how they work.
Thanks,
Greg
