the one i used is 275.88 from summit.i never checked jeggs price on a flowmaster 17345 kit with the stainless steel 3.5 inch tip they even have a cheaper one minus the tip.
a little gentle bending and the 04 gas kit fits the 05.06
this muffler shop smells money and is out for a rip off. gage what if you spend that 500 and don't like the sound? find another shop man.stay away from midas and meineke. and the likes

I put a Gibson Swept Back cat back system on my 04Ex v10 lying on my back in the driveway in about hour and a half. Took off the stock unit as one piece (had to remove the right rear shock for clearance, but was going to change them out also) Now I have it stored if I need it, it just slipped off the cat outlet after removing clamp. Gibson system used all the stock mounting points, sounds good too (for a v10)

thanks bucky
any one else have done this besides monsta, bucky and myself. lets help him out some more please. hows it sound how is it inside with noise levels.
i just checked summit and jegs summit has both of the 04 super duty kits.
the flo17345 has a stainless steel tip it's 275.88 plus shipping for 48 pounds
the flo 17229 is with out a tip its 212.39 plus shipping for 48 pounds
jegs showed nothing but with them you have to call and ask by giving them the part number so just say price on a flowmaster number
getting a good to me system was 4 types the dynaflow was the worst imm
both kits are for to 04 super dutys with gas 5.4 and 6.8 motors and the bending and adapting was minor to fit the 05, 3 valve
did a search and found free shipping and summits prices "close"

The shop I went to doesnt have the muffler for my truck, he said the he would install it for $60I would have to bring my own muffler. All he was going to do is cut out my stock muffler and in stall the after market one.
The $500 system is from performanceproducts4trucks.com that price was for their Stainless steel Gibson Dual Sport Exhaust system. I was going to install that myself.
The kit for $460 was for the Gibson Stainless steel Swept Side Exhaust

Gibson sent me an E-mail.. I was asking about thier Extreme Dual Exhaust system for the 2005 V-10
"We have not yet built the Extreme Dual for your application. It is in the works but will not be available for 4-6 weeks."
So I might just wait till that kit comes out.
That kit is where the tailpipes come out at an angle one one each side
What do you guys think? ~Gage~

I have the FM 70. the shop welded mine on with along the hangar for $60.
As far as mileage, my truck is a 2001 and the FM70 in combination with a K&N filter had no effect on mileage. I also removed the 2" snorkle from the intake filter cannister and manufactured a 3" replacement in it's place and installed headers. While I don't think I increased horsepower or torque I have better throttle response and it winds up past 2000 rpm's easer.
