Line-X on front bumper?

Hey guys im thinking about useing Line-X the front bumper on my 2000 Expedition XLT Sport, it has some chips on it and why should I have it painted if its just going to chip again? I think Line-X would hold up way better. Any thoughts?
Thanks ~Gage~

Sounds like a good idea, actually I've been thinking of having it done to my front bumper guard. I stoped by the local line x store to get a price, I don't think he knew the size of the guard because he wanted to charge me the full price he charges for a truck bed. ( My guard is 1/4 the size of a truck bed.)
Here is a pic of the guard that I want line x;

I think line-x or equivalent is a great idea! My '04 Expy has been a damage magnet on both bumpers, lower shields and fender skirts. It pisses me off! I have to keep a tow hitch on mine so idiots will avoid getting too close and I've never pulled anything.

If you do it, send pics and prices.

Thanks

Tim

AF Mezkin,

Where did you get the front guards for your Expy and how much? BTW, sharp looking truck!

Thanks

try getting a few people together that want to line-x bumpers, running boards... obviously there is a lot of "overspray" while doing tube bumpers and you have to get an even coat all the way around etc.... i think that is why the guy wanted to charge you the same as a bed; so get a few people together and the price will drop.....

try the "area/location" forum on FTE and see if anyone else is up for doing it in your area and do them all at once!!

my 2 pennies..

I looked into doing mine all the way around the truck (the lower quarter panels). It was $500. I don't think I will because mine has the grey plastic cladding:

They go all the way down to the bear metal too. Should be pretty nice.

Need to get my damn pinstripe removed.

it would almost be worth it for me to go all the way around considering my moldings on the side are faded as all H*ll and its an eyesore and it would help protect 360* around the Expy.

gage2502 and tseekins, the guard is a Waag product, I purchased it through e-bay. The cost was 115.00 which included shiping. Waag does not offer the S/S model anymore it only offers the black powder coated at 3 times the price of the S/S.
tseekins I also have a rear guard for my Expy here are a few pics of it;

This is not a Waag product, I can't recall the manufacturer, if you need to know I can search my records for it.

That's Sweeeet! My Expy is Torador Red with the glossy charcoal bottom cladding, the black powder coated guards would look great.

Thanks man,

Tim
