Funny how most people think sewing machine are hard. I used my wifes to make a window covering for my last truck. Working nights, last thing I wanted to do was scrape windows just to come home. Unfortunately, it didn't fit the crew cab, and I haven't made another one yet.
Any change in EGT's or other noticeable restricton?
Answering my own question.....Yes, big difference.
The baseline ended up being with my very old (almost a year), very filthy 6637. I went straight from that to a new filter with the cover. EGT's are 50 degree's lower at cruise and nearly 100 degrees lower at full boogie (I told you it was filthy). Next up is to remove the KwikPopcover and test aginst the new filter solo, but based on what I have now, I expect very little difference. More to follow.
I don't think you'll see any difference at all, either. And with Pop's cover on there it's an easy thing to pull it off on a monthy basis to shake off all the grit.
Well i now remember why i don't like to sew. But after a 1-1/2 hours later i ended up with a pretty nice prefilter for the kiwk mod, THANKS POPS for the ideal and pics. And has anyone sprayed theirs with ScotchGuard yet.
this past weekend while waiting for RedLobster, i went across the street to the fabric store and got some scraps. it is a large piece (maybe .75 yd2) and it's in a deep blue, sort of like a navy. i blew threw three layers of it with my mouth and there wasn't much restriction.

I looked for blue or red material at JoAnn Fabrics but all the had was black, strokin_it7.3 what fabric store did you find blue.
i also was at JoAnn fabrics too. this wasn't in the rolls, this was at the ends of the aisles where the excess stuff is. this was just like .30 yard.
I'll have to go back and spend a little more time looking, when i was there i was in a hurry to get it and get out, kinda like going in the bra and panties department with the wife at mall. Thanks
For all of you that don't sew: there is an ironable adhesive available so that you just heat fuse the seams together. melt temp is about 200-300 *f. about a buck and change for a roll. Just ask the craft ladies.
I used to do this to my rank patches so the commander could just rip them off in a hurry if need be.

There is a difference, but it's hardly worth mentioning. The eyeball can see that the gauge needles are in an ever so slightly different position on back to back runs.....but neither boost nor EGT gauges have small enough increments for actual measurements.
