im rebuilding my 351w and i was wondering how you tell if its a ho or regular heads ? what are the best stock heads i can run e7te s or should i use something elese id like to stay with cast heads the truck plows snow soo i dont want to go to crazy just would like to build up the motor a little bit i was told that a 351w ho from a mustang would have different heads than a 351w ho that was in a truck is this true the truck is a1986 carb job if that makes any difference . thanks for the help uncle junk.
E7TE's will work fine for what you want to do. Even better with the exhaust sides ported. Remove the injector bumps, raise the roofs and hog out the sides some, then blend them down into the bowls under the valves. Leave the port floor as is. Intake sides, just gasket match em. If you can, pick a machine shop that has a Serdi machine to do the valve job after porting.----------------------------------------------------The only 351 Stang heads that are better are the 69-70 castings. In the Fox Stangs, only one year offered a 351 and that was the Cobra R model. These had GT40 heads, which are somewhat similar to the older 69-70 castings.
whatwould the numbers be on a 69 -70 head i would like to go with the best were the e7te only on foolinfested motors or were the found on carb motors too
i was wondering would the heads on a 1974 351w from a ltd crown vic be the same as th 69 -70 i have a chance to get them if i take away the mess that the poor car is in a shambles but its a free bee
