cd player powering 2 door speakers 6" on front channel, 2 6x9 rears on rear channel, then run a small mono amp off cd rca jacks powering a 10" sub woofer. sub woofer and 6x9 speakers can be mounted in a truck box that will reside behind your seats and for full sound get some satelite speakers for the front channel. This kind of set up gives great full sound, deep bass. Look around for deals, and have it proffetionaly installed.
I think I spent about 350-400 all said and done. A couple of 6.25's in the front, a couple 8x10's (I think...) in the rears, a 350W amp, and a couple of 10" subwoofers. Of course, I made my own box. You won't find very many boxes that will fit behind a 94 regular cab seat. If you want specs on how to build a box, I have it in my gallery.
Pioneer is a good entry level HU. Same with their door speakers. I don't think it'd be a bad idea to go Pioneer all the way around if you're looking for the best bump for the buck.
I myself built my entire system for under $400 with a Kenwood face, Pioneer Mids(6"X8"), Bazooka Amp 100 watt RMS(I think), A 10" Lightning Audio Sub. The sub is the only thing that is really lacking in the system, i would also like to run my own speaker wire for the mids but i dont have the time right now.
