Starting problems (long Post)

Hey FTE siblings I have a 1996 ford bronco XLT with a 351W,Automatic transmission, K&N air filter and dual exhaust. BUt anyway I'm having some problems with my baby. I took her to Ford for the Cruise control Recall came home parked in the usual spot and let her sit sit till I had to go to work (Had the rear window down). So it was about 10p.m and went togoto work and she wouldn't start I put the key in the ignition tried to turn her over and heard the click it makes before anything else happens .I think it was either my "ABS" light or my "Check engine" light when on then lost all powerSo I went to work came home around 5 a.m and took the battery out and had it charged an hour later got my battery back put it back in and did the same thing so I called Ford up and wanted to see if it maybe had something todo with the Recall part after being B.Sed about how I'm going to need a wiring harness I went back out and took the altinator off and had it tested it was fine went to put the altinator back on and noticed my my altinator harness was melted for being pushed against the smog pipe leading outof the exhaust. S luckily nonn of the wires were damaged I taped up tohe harness and placed it away from the smog pipe tried to fire her up again same thing dead. I noticed when I was removing the altinator that when I loosened up the bolt to the power supply that the light under my hood went on. I read some of the searched starting problems and found some info I'll try doing before I goto work first obvious thing is clean terminal I forgot just how nasty they can get, does anyone have a home remidy for keeping the terminals clean???~Kyle

I use Vaseline on the power supply bolts (AKA Battery Terminals). It melts into the terminals better than the grease some use.

I use a couple drips of motor oil. It runs in there good too. I bet if you clean all your heavy wire connections, it will crank over and start.
