I'll start here. I had my truck in in early feb for the rear window squeaking over bumps/ rough roads. They put shims in to move the window trim away from the body, scratched paint near rear window, and to top it off knew it wasn't fixed, but told me it was and to come get it. I was going away the next weekend and needed the truck. Called and left a message for the service manager, he called me back, we talked and set up another appointment for the following week. He had a loaner ready for me as promised, and they had the truck for 3 days and called to say it was done. I one again asked to speak to the manager. I got a conferance call with the manager and tech. They said that this time the noise was in the headliner, something loose, but the noise was identical. So I get the truck back detailed, scratch fixed, and quiet. Monday night I had it out, and had the radio down to make a call, and I hear the wonderful squeak starting again. I have been told by the dealer that they have done all that ford will allow right now until they come up with a solution. I got my survey from Ford, and wrote in the comments that I feel that Ford's handling of this is pathetic, and left my cell number in big digits asking for a call from them. The dealer told me that they know this is an issue. Anybody else having this same frustrating issue? Any fixes?
I had a similar noise on my 01. It drove me crazy. Turned out to coming from the headliner where the overhead console and the maplight pod where. I tightened the screws and the noise went away for awhile only to come back in a few days. I took the console and pod off. Then I folded up some toolbox drawer liner foam and put it under the headliner where it mounted to the cosole/pod. When I put the screws back in it was nice and tight. The sound only came back every 6 months or so. All I did was tighten the screws back down. Hope this helps.
I had the same issue with my 05' Screw. After having it in the shop 5 times in 4 months, the dealer finally replaced my rear window about 2 weeks ago. No noise since then.
Had mine replaced, noise came back, my solution is to get a can of silicone spray, put the red nozzle in and spray around the whole outside area around the rear window where it meets the body, wipe away any drips and works for me. About every 6-9 months I have to re-do
I took mine to the dealer and they replaced a channel run and sprayed some lubricant behind a 6 inch section of the window on the drivers side. It has been silent for over a year now.
I had the same problem, still do at times. They have replaced the run-channel and applied a grease/lubricant the last time I brought it in. I did hear it again the other day after about 3 weeks while going over some pretty rough road. Im now getting frustrated.
