On MY 78 I prefer the:
Argent with chrome grille and the chrome headlight doors.

I voted but it's kind of a tough poll because you have 3 different styles of grill inserts in the 73-79 trucks. Each has its own look to it and its own style . . . so really the question could apply to each grill design seperately.

I voted all silver, but it depends on the truck.
My grey 77 F-100 has chrome grille shell, argent grilles, and black head light bezzles, and I think it lookes better like that than all silver.
My 79 Bronco is black, so the chrome and silver helps with the looks, and I have silver everything.

My '79 grill is black with the silver/argent band around the outside. I painted my grill this way to match my headlight buckets. Looks great. My grill was argent and my headlight buckets were very faded, so I painted them last weekend.

On the earlier models I sure like the black grill and headlight buckets with polished outer shell. On the '78 and '79 I like all chrome. I wish someone would make a chrome stock grill.

Or are you thinking Chrome grille surrounds ?
Just so we're on the same page.
The grille is that piece that fits inside the grille surround.
In 1978 there were 3 options for grilles
Argent
Argent with chrome slats (like on my Truck)
Black
