ok guys, need some help here to figure out what to do first
just got the ok from the missus to dump some money into the truck
early 99 psd, ext cab, 4x4, drw
only problem is i got to split the purchase in two
i currently have a stock truck. there is a afe stage two on the way for the truck
but the only money left in the budget for the first buy is an exhaust
for the next round of $$, i want to get a dp chip that i have been hearing so many good things about. now, if i get the dp chip, do i need to change the valve body (from brians truck shop) right away, or will i get away with it
the chip will have 4pos. stock, 60, 80, and 120 for being stupid
the truck is auto
the probelm i have is i dont have the cash for the second buy to buy chip, gauges, and valve body

which can i live without, gauges or valve body?

also, is the 4" mbrp exhaust ok, or do i need larger? my brother has a 5" on his dirtymax, but i dont see the need, or would it bring egt down that much more
thanks

You'll do just fine with the 4" exhaust if you enjoy living with 5" envy.

I am at the same stage you are only I have made the purchases except the chip from Jody. I think Jody will want to know that you have the BTS valve body or not when he makes your chip as he can control the shifting with his tunes. I have the 4: MBRP and installed last weekend, sweet! You will want the guages first thing BEFORE the chip so you know what your EGT's are and don't hurt anything, especially when in the "120 for being stupid" setting. I am going to wait until I have everything installed and then talk with Jody se he knows exactly what I have got and only needs to make the chip one time.

ok, so it looks like i should get the gauges when i get the exhaust

not too bad, went to diesel manor and i think i am going to get the isspro kit
i think that i want it to be down in the cubby, any one have them mounted here and experience any problems?
then for the second buy, the valve body and the chip from jody at the same time
thanks for pointing out only asking jody to make the chip once, im sure that will save some time , $$, and aggrivation

The cubby location has some advantages. It's a bit easier to run the wires and hookups to them when they're mounted there, and they don't obstruct your vision on the post. You have to glance a bit further off the road to view them, so I guess that's a negative.

Thumbs up Will love the ISSPRO gauges.

You will love the ISSPRO gauges. The look awesome with the factory gauge setup in our trucks. The scale on them is easy to read with no guesswork as to what the gauge is telling you.....Mine will be here soon too.....enjoy..Dave
