I have a 1970 302, and i would like to paint the block the same color as my orginal paint on my pickup, the problem is that my pickup is an aqua green color and i cant find anywhere that can make the high temp color that i need, Any ideas??? thanks Erik
Your Block should do okay.
The heads will be tricky however.
The exaust flanges get VERY hot and burn the paint.
I have had high temp paint turn all brown on those flanges
several times.
Other than that area the paint of choice stays true color
on the block and heads.
Of course the exhaust manifolds need a high temp. paint too.
Here's an idea... paint the block the color you want and then use a high temp aluminum color for the heads. Good contrasting and It'll look like you went all out and bought aluminum heads. Good conversation starter too.

Check with local auto paint store. I am sure they could custom mix an engine enamel or at least find you something that is very close.
Just paint it black and paint the valve covers car color. Black is the best color for dissipating heat and hiding the one or other minor oil leak that may develop down the line.
you say your truck is aqua in color? try ONAN green (they make generators in case you don't know) or Detroit Diesel green they are close to aqua and you should be able to get it in spray can and hi temp.
