Where does the speedo cable run

I am getting the interior of my 1950 M-47 which is the Canadian Mercury version of the F-1 and I can't remember where the speedo cable ran from the Tranny to inside the cab and to the instrument panel.
Thanks in advance.

Don, I have posted some pics to my gallery. Look at the top pic, pic 1 and 2 and pic 6. I hope these can be enlarged for better detail. Look for the cable where you can. It seams if i remember that my cable ran to the underside of the passenger side, to the engine fire wall accross the trans to the opeining (hole) in the fire wall up to the speedo. Hope this helps, Monte

Another tidbit: the cable runs straight up from the tranny connection, to the underside of the trans cover, and makes a sharp bend towards the front of the truck. From there it is as Fla. describes above. The bend is pretty tight out of the trans, mine will hold the cover up if it's not bolted down.

Speedo cable

Flathead,
I viewed your pics and was wondering if the speedo cable enters the cab where the floor boards meet the firewall there is a hole there that is big enough for the end to go through. And if there are clips that hold it against the firewall before it came through the firewall cover.

I will check again, As I recall, there was a lip at the top left side of the trans cover where the cable came into the cab. One of those things,I wish had taken more and better pics.

Did anyone get a chance to take a look and see if there are clips that hold the cable?
Thanks

There is a clip, and it's screwed to the firewall about 6 inches above and about two inches to the left of the hole the cable comes in through.
