It's not too bad. You need to remove the entire underdash a/c unit and the heater core is inside. The underdash unit is attached to the underside of the dash itself and then also has 2 bolts that go thru the firewall.
I have a 1972 f250 w/factory a/c. replace both of the heater hoses at that time. We had one blow and burn my wife pretty bad. They run in side of the cab and you have to pull the a/c to get to them so you might as well replace them while you are in there.

I got mine about 3 or 4 years ago at Allstar ford in Olyimpia Washington. (speacial order of course) If you need their number email me. There is also williams oil filter in tacoma who can form just about anything. I take it you are being told that your heater hoses aren't preformed by the parts houses frustrating isn't it. I swore that next time I would have mine formed out of steel braided by williams.
Hello, I have a 1971 F100 with factory A/C. I just had the whole system rebuit by classic auto air in tampa fl. The A/C works okay, but i would like it to get cooler. The main problem I have is the heater. It want get warm inside. The termostat is doind what it is suppose to do and the coil is new. I've placed a thermometer into the heater coil and it gets about 140-160 degs, and when the fan is turned on it dropps down. The inside temp at the duct is 60deg. while the outside temp is around 40-60deg.
