so it looks like nobody here really works their 6.0. Maybe the DMax is the way to go at least the owners there have a responce
I can not really say I work mine. I drive it a lot, love it a lot, have nothing bad to say. Maybe no one that "really works their 6.0" has responded yet because they are out using the trucks to pull stuff on the road... with no Internet? Just a guess. IMHO, if you are going to make a rash decision on what truck to buy based upon the lack of response of one post then you will make other rash decisions once you have any truck. Just chill a little, drink a few cold ones, and enjoy whatever you buy. I do suggest you do a bit of reading first though. I researched for over three months before I bought my F250.

You barely gave 14 hours for people to respond to your post and most of that was overnight, people do sleep. Learn a little patience and you will probably get your answer.
Do a little research on this site. It was not started yesterday and I am sure that this topic has been discussed several times already.
With a post like that you are more likely to get smart aleck responses then legitimate responses.
Maybe the Duramax is the way to go for you. I hope you get a great truck that does everything you want no matter what you buy.
Working on construction sites pulling a flatbed loaded, recon potential development land parcels in northTexas (god's country) and hauling the 5th wheel. '05 CC FX4 - 36k on the meter. Not a lick of problems to speak of....
Have put 12,000 of my 20,000 miles pulling a 16,000lb 5ver up and down the east coast of Canada and USA. F350 DW CC Lariat 3.73 no mods. 9.9-11.2 mpg pulling. Best truck I have ever had. Get some pretty surprised people when I get up to speed on the ramps. This sucker flies and pulls like a dream.

Just wondering what year is your truck, and it is a dually?
05 E450 6.0 in a Horton Ambulance. 6-8 times in the shop in under 10K. We work the thing. When it runs right, it's a monster and it's the tuned down version they put in the vans. But when it fails, it fails hard. Like not moving style.
It has been running fine for a while now though so we have our fingers crossed.
Sorry Crossfirer usually don't miss the year. Its a 2005 build Oct. 2004.
Needed a front wheel bearing first trip out. Tach went so they put a new cluster on.No engine related problems. No smoke, odor, oil leaks. Engine was reflashed recently on the recall. It wasn,t doing any of the things it was supposed to fix. I have a great dealer/service tech. They will even sell you the chip and put it on. I would get one but am waiting for the new 6.4 in 2008??.
BTW if anyone is interested in a Toronto Star report of a factory sponsored drag race between the big three hauling similar loads all with the 2500 series trucks with 3.73 gears I will post the results.
65,000 miles pull a 32' Travel Trailer. Latched on to a Backhoe on a trailer (don't know what the thing weighed, it was a full size Case tractor) but it was heavy, saw a chevy pulling one it wasn't doing so good. I didn't have a bit of trouble, walked right off with it. Down the highway at 55 (if I got over that it would start swerving, they didn't have it balanced on the trailer). I don't know what you consider "working" a truck. But "The Ghost" (she's white you know) earned her keep that day.
