Hello! In my '93 AWD extended Ford Aerostar, the "door ajar" buzzer and dash light turn on when all doors are properly closed. This happens while driving and usually when going over a bump. The dome light does NOT come on, as it would when a door is actually ajar or open. Any thoughts on how to fix this annoyance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Most likely the sider door, you can clean the contacts, or if it is like my van, I have a worn wheel and the door is cocked alittle and not making good contact.
On my Aero the buzzer only sounds when the drivers side door is ajar and the key is inserted into the ignition.
Unless your Aero is different try closing all the doors inserting the key and pressing the driver side door switch by hand and see if the light goes off.
last van that we had that did that, had the contacts very worn, i got a small piece of wire and ran it between the top 2 contacts on the B pillar for the sliding door, no more door-ajar light.

I had a similar issue once, when the chime would sound off while I was going down the road. I finally used a small piece of adhesive foam weatherstrip where the door light switch contacted the door (driver's door, in this case) and it stopped it. I guess it was just enough wear so the door was out of adjustment.
On my '93 XLTN any door not shut properly will trigger Door Ajar warning lamp. Unfortunately my Peizo Buzzer fell out & disappeared one day in a lake. . . .
Back to the original querey, I concur dirty Contacts on the multi Switch of the slider, or "B" Pillar will cause it.
1 culprit that wreaked havoc is hand lotion from people grabbing the place where the switch contacts are located. My daughter played soccer & we carried 1/2 the team! Lots of Hand lotion there!
