sounds like a rebuild is in need, i feel for you my E4OD is slipping in reverse and overdive. Fords getting 2200 with 3yr/36000 mile warrenty, but its top knotchwith all the updates and service bulletins done.

2200 is alot... im hoping i can get a rebuild done reliably and take the risk of running cheaper... but then again theres nothing like a warranty

Well its about 900 more than if i have the local place do the overhaul, but you only get 1 yr/12 miles and who knows if they cover all the updates. i know the 93 E4OD has a laudry list of updates like oil pump, torque converter, 4 pinion carrier etc.

think i got my problems solved... im have a mechanic look at it and tell me if its a simple fix or the tranny is gone... then if it is gone i found an aod tranny from a neighbor for 75$ so ill be back on the road in no time... not much of a warranty by it should get me by until i get my ducks in a row and see about putting a 4 speed out of an 84 bronco, one of the true 4's not the 3 w/overdrive... im just not sure what i need to do there... its a big job swapping auto for manual tranny
any thoughts or maybe links to swapping sights that you know about??
thanks
