Mach audio system with the sub in the back cargo panel. Has anyone replaced one of these? Did you have to get the whole enclosure or can you just replace the sub?
Keep in mind that the entire enclosure needs to be removed from the truck. There is a bolt that goes in the rear of the factory sub holding it there. I know a Sony Explode 8 will fit no problem. I did it to mine. Just check youe mounting depth after the factory driver is removed. I can't remember the exact measurements on it . It was over 2 yrs ago.
When I replace the factory subs in the Explorer and Expedition I remove the bolt and plug the hole with something. I use a heat gun and heat the plastic enough for me to push the back of the enclosure out enough for clearance of the new subwoofer.
