55 PANEL HEADLINER "BOWS"
#32
My 56 panel came out of So Cal in 1987 and was purchased by the previous owner in 1988. He owned the truck unitll I bought it in 2001. He had only put 200 miles on the 90,000 orignal mile truck. It has the y block with overdrive.
I hate the wheels on the truck, I have a set of stockers with new tires ready to put on with hub caps
I've only put about 200 miles on it myself. It is 100% rust free and unmolested
I hate to sell but I'm running out of room and time isnt a commodity I have anymore

I'm firm at $15,000 (firm means $14,500 wont get it!) I dont think you can find another unrestored unmolested 56 panel in rust free cond, if you find it it will be a rare find.
I have the orignal drivers side bucket seat along with the optional pass side bucket seat as well. The pass side seat when I bought it was a on original bucket seat with the drivers side seat frame, then I found a NOS pass side bucket seat fold up frame, it lets you fold the seat up toward the dash for easier entering into the rear from the front.
It was missing the rear floor skid strips, the rear door closures at the top of the door, the tool box that goes on the wall behind the drivers seat, under body spare tire and orignal carrier, and some of the rear door inspection covers. I now have everything.
Only modification is the Y- block has ram horns on it and dual exhaust.
My 56 small window was in storrage for about 15 yrs so ( now I race it) If I dont get $15,000 I will make arrangements to store away for a long time! This will be a once in a life time opportunity for this purchase.

No, The panel had one repaint prior to 1987. The orignal color was meadow green (sea foam green). I really like that light green color.
I bet when they first repainted it looked real sharp as the dash is perfect, but the outside is starting to peel.
It needs a complete restoration, I orignally was going to use the panel as my tow vehicle to tow my other 56 to the race track, but the panel has too many blind spots to be towing a trailer!

I have the vin tag off of a custom cab panel ( one of the 1190 rare ones!) and it was orignially light blue and was also black when I found it in a junk yard.
For some reason the red trucks rusted badly and if you notice most trucks that have orignal paint will be SFG or the light blue color. These colors may have reflected the sun better?
