hey guys
i am trying to get a baseline on milage for my truck.
i have a early 99 psd 4x4 f350 drw
lately i have been getting 12.5 to 13.5
the truck is stock with no mods whatsoever
is this a normal mpg?
My '00 was SRW CC 4x4 and my around town (which was acutally a mix of stop and go and toll road at highway speeds) driving produced between 14-15 mpg before I installed bigger tires and put a leveling kit on. Mileage went down to 13-14 and stayed there for the duration of the time I owned the truck. On the highway, I could get about 17mpg.
I wish my '06 would think about getting the same 14-15 that I got in town with my '00.
I have a 2006 6.0 with 1500 miles. I am getting 15.3. If it stays that good, or improves like everyone says it will, I have two words for you... Wooooooo Hooooooo!
04 250 cc 4X4 55000 miles, 4" lift, 35", Banks exhaust, Banks six-gun, 16.3 mpg with mix highway and stop and go hand calculated. traveling on flat interstate at 65 mph and reset the lie o meter and it says 21 mpg. i drive like I got some sense, maybe that is my problem.
It looks to me like all the replies are from SRW owners. We should probably post a thread just for duallies. My mileage also seems low in comparison to other trucks of the same year, but I'm beginning to think 1 or even 2 mpg may be due to the the DRW!
i see that it does look like the culprit is the drw
that is ok, i like to see the about 17 on the freeway though.
i had seen some of the mpgs in some of the other threads and thought
that i had something wrong with my truck, but it looks like the avg.
thanks guys,
would a new intake, exhaust and chip make a diff in mpg
i am currently looking at a afe stage2 and a 4" mbrp exhaust.
also, would a tonneau cover help? as opposed to open box
I have a 01 f250 CC 4x4 SRW and I cannot get more than 13-14mpg no matter what I do. I got the same mpg before the programmer, 4" MBRP and AFE filter. I have a hard cover too. I think some guys just luck out as to which truck they get from the factory and the mpg is predetermined.
6.0 f-350 crew cab gets about 14-16 mpg around town, and no better than 17 mpg on the highway, but i have heard that if you keep it below 75 on the highway 18 mpg or better is possible
