1998 expedition rear spring question

Hey folks, it may be my imigination but I think the rear springs on my 98 EB 4wd with tow package are starting to sag a little. I did tow a car a few weeks back and left the car, on the trailer, attached to the truck for about 24 hours without taking it off and thats when I noticed it (when I took the trailer off)

Do our trucks springs have a tendency to sag when they get older? I know it would be an easy fix to put new springs on, just don't know if it's my being dumb

thanks

-JOE

Personally I have never seen springs sag except under weight. I've seen springs break but not sag. Check your tire pressure. The only other help I have for you is to park your Expy on level ground and measure your frame height. This will be a measurement for future reference if you feel again the Expy is sagging. Do you currently have extra weight in the Expy, for example the third row seat? Without seeing your Expy I would lean on the side that you are a little to conscious about the towing. Maybe putting that seed of dought in your head. If all else fails find the same Expy and measure it, just remember tires will make a height difference.

Yup, tires are where they should be...I admitted that it might me my imigination just wanted some more opinions... I don't have the 3rd row seat and nothing in the back that should cause that much of a sag.

Thanks for the info.

Heh, yeah but that doesn't seem to bother me as much, as I get older.

Talking

All springs will sag over time, its just the way they work. If you tow alot, then there is a chance the springs could sag just a bit sooner. I have done alot of med,to hard wheeling over the years, and have noticed a very slight sag in my rear springs, almost to the point that my expy sits level. When I had a Ford pre-runner with coils in the front years ago, I would go thru one to two sets of springs per year!!! It just depends on how you use them.
