what is this?

I was under the truck today and saw that there are two weatherpack connectors, on the splash gaurds for the front wheels, one per side. wondering their purpose is. looks like there is two wires going down to the connector.
either side is identical. they are attached with those platic clips the whole way down so its not like the fell off somewhere

If the plugs are by the wheel well, they most likely go to the speed sensors on trucks with 4 wheel anti lock brakes.

wheel speed sensors attache to the back of the inner fender behing the front tire. are the connectors infront or behind the tire?

They are for running board lights.

I have those too...strange they are on the visible side of the fender and not plugged in.

they are on the back of the fender well
not exposed to the tire
