mostly they are for show
they are sometimes put on incase you tow stuff so what your towing doesnt smell like exhaust
I wouldnt put them on..they dont increase flow or anything like that. but they are chrome. and chrome is eyecatching

well stacks will work great if your planning to do alot of off roading, especially going thru alot of water. you can just about submerge the truck and don't have to worry about water getting into the engine. one advantage.........

There is a '79 F250 4x4 with dual 4inch chrome stacks, it looks tough. It gives you the "I'm tough, get out of my way - My Peterbilt is at home" look.;-)
