Yesterday the grator came and cleared the drifts off the road. So today went to town to get mail and go go juice. It was almost drifted back.
Sadly hit one drift about a mile from my place. It lifted the back of the truck up and came down on the ice and straight into the ditch. I just took out what I was using for weight in the box. Should of waited a few more days. Neighbor saw me and came with his 4x4 dodge and one pull had me out.
Will these southeast winds and drifting stop so it can melt now? 6 days of this is enough. Spring fever is here and I want to work outside NOW!
6fters. Schools have been closed for 2 days here now.
There is a drift on the road at the front of my driveway. It is a good 5ft high and they plowed it out yesterday and tried pushing it more into the ditch. It took 5 passes for them to get it cleared, but it is back today. So tonite it still is blowing, but the wind seems to finally changed direction here. So now it will drift from a different way. They say it is suspose to be +5 by Friday. That will help make the drifting snow stick in one place.
I knew the moment I hit that drift I was going to hit the ditch, But man did it ever lift the back of the truck up.
My hitting the ditch did do some damage. Driving home from the city the truck developed a bad vibration through the floor. Stopped checked tires if going down. By the time I got home it was really bad and could hear something amiss at the back brakes. Put in shop and removed hubcaps. Found the left wheel lugs were nearly off. The rims was buggered at the stud holes and the studs were all chewed up.
Had 3 studs to replace with and lug nut too. When the snow melts some will go to parts truck and get more studs to fix the last 2. At least I can drive it now. Glad it did not come apart on the highway.
Not sure if this was happening before the mishap or not. Just glad to get us home safe. I have had this happen on my Mopar vehicles a couple of times. This is the first on a ford.
Bright and sunny today here. Things are melting. Next week maybe get out there and play on the truck. Still got to put on those new shocks on the truck.
Itching just itching to get outside and work around here.
