Anyone have a prob w/ the paint coming off the "F350 badge" on the front quarter panels? Just noticed it today. Had some rust cleaned off the front bumper by the dealer. They washed the rest of the truck. Looked great. All shiney and new. 2 weeks later, I noticed the paint flaking off the graphics in the badges on the quarter panels and the one on the tailgate. Input?
I've seen this on quite a few trucks here in So. CA. I suspect this would be a warranty item if you wanted to go that route. I've also seen a few badges that looked like the paint started chipping off and the owner helped it along resulting in all chrome badges. This actually looks OK . It's too bad this is happening . I was looking at mine (06 F250) and it looks like there isn't any kind of a clear coating over the paint to protect it. I don't know, maybe its just poor quality paint. They certainly don't make em like they used to. The badges on my 88 F-250 still look brand new.
I do plan contacting my dealer on Monday and getting it covered under warranty. I live in Northern Mi and the weather conditions are harsh, but I"ve never had a problem like this on any of my other trucks
This is a pretty common problem. The dealer will cover it under warranty and I'm sure they have plenty of badges in stock. My 06 has one badge that is peeling. I'm still trying to decide whether to get it replaced or just take acetone to it and strip all the paint off making it all chrome. Decisions, decisions.
