The whole deal with that truck was there were actually 2 of them. Limited Diesel Excursions. A local dealership owner had a son who owns an oil company in Texas. CPS Distributing here in Kansas City hired me on as a lead installer about 4 days after they had both these trucks sitting in thier shop. We had 2 weeks to install $12,000 worth of equipment in each one. Alpine indash monitor, DVD changer, XM reciever, Backup Camera, Visteon Navmate (which the alpine nav would have been smarter but I wasn't calling the shots), Sony amplifiers, 2 headrests monitors, video input for game and portable player, Kicker components in all three locations, and then I custom installed two 8 inch subwoofers into the rear doors. Remove, rebuild, and recover the entire headliner with suede to mount a 15" overhead monitor since the factory didn't work after removing the factory 6 disk player.
I had 6 days to complete both the vehicles.
I built the enclosures out of Tru-Pan which is an extremely light weight MDF. They make it out of a lighter epoxy. It costs twice as much but has half the weight. It's all I use when I make my custom enclosures. After I completed both doors I covered the grilles with matching tan speaker cloth. Each sub had about 250 watts going to it. These things hit!!! I have since done about 20 excursions the same way.

Nice install. However, light weight MDF does not exist. It would be clasified as LDF. MDF is MEDIUM Density Fiberboard. Lighter weight would mean less dense which means LDF. You can also purchase HDFwhich is further compressed and does not soak water like a sponge. It also is a bitch to cut and saw blades hate it.
Actually Trupan is classified as an Ultralite MDF... Look it up
What is this the "Pick on KC Autosound forum" All I was trying to do is simply show the guy something and now I got everyone trying to "one-up" me or shoot me down.

Trupan is a double refined medium density fiberboard produced from only fresh debarked Radiata Pine logs harvested from sustainable forests. By using only fresh Radiata Pine logs, no other species, or wood waste, Trupan is able to produce a very light colored medium density fiberboard. The use of Radiata Pine in the production of Trupan produces a fiberboard that is extremely easy to machine. The Radiata Pine content of Trupan tends to prolong cutter life. The double refining produces a board that is very consistent throughout its core, thus making it the perfect choice for edge profiling, moulding, and routing. Trupan is produced in Chile and imported into the United States.
TRUPAN LIGHT---weighs approximately 80% of a standard mdf or about 80 lbs per sheet of 3/4" 4x8. Trupan Light is the best choice for producing moulding, raised panels, and edge profiling.
