After a short few weeks after filing my DSB paperwork and only the second offer from Ford, we are being awarded a replacement Expy due to vibrations.
It was strange, on Tuesday they make a lame offer of $570 to reimburse US for tires that the selling dealer paid for. I declined the offer and the BBB rep relayed that to Ford. Now today we get a call saying that they are offering the replacement in accordance to MD DSB guidelines. I don't know if they meant to lowball like that or that was a mistake. We accepted the offer and are now going to wait to hear from Ford for the specifics. The rep said they have 45 days to make it all happen.
The rep also said that we can attempt to negotiate the replacement deal as far as price rebates and the such but Ford is not obligated to deal. We will see how it goes. I'll keep updating.
Thanks Freak, Ford is apparently on the ball. I have already been contacted by Ford and informed of who my case manager(?) is. they seem to be moving pretty quick. Updates as warranted.
I have an 04 EB Expedition. I have had nothing but problems with it since the day I picked it up from the dealer. I have had it into the shop 10 plus times for a severe viberation in the front end at highway speeds. At 18,000 I sued Ford under the NJ Lemon Law and we had a cash settlement and a promise the problem would be fixed. it is now oct 2006 and the problem has not been resolved. I am now creeping up to 50,000 mile. The tires have been changed, balanced, blessed by there head tech and service manager... bla bla bla. How did you get a Ford Service Rep involved in your case. I have tried to call Ford and they just have a useless phone rep call the service manager at the dealer which does nothing. I have tried another dealer also, but being over the 36000 mile warr now makes it that much harder. What problem were did you have with your EXP and what steps did you take to get where you are today... Thanks in advance!
Ford now uses the BBB Autoline program instead of the DSB. I went thru the BBB process with my F150. You can go to the BBB's website and lookup the information relating to your state. It took my case about 4 months from the time I filed the paperwork. You can do that online with the BBB to get the process started.
Thanks...i have read where Ford has really cut back on their "replacement" policy.... i have a multitude of problems: the window motor, the vibration, the leaking sunroof, the leaking rear window, the lame tires, the jerking transmission shifting from 1st to 2nd... the exhaust system rusting and dripping condensation all the time...
think i'm going back to Dodge...the only trouble i had with those was the transmission....
