Disc/Drum Master Cylinder and Booster

Disc/Drum Master Cylinder and Booster
What is the most cost effective master cylinder and booster upgrade. I already have the disc brakes installed just need new master cylinder/booster and new lines. Can I go to an auto parts store and buy one off the shelf with the correct length lever or put a correct lever on the MC from another year/application. Read something about a big block 72 mustang lever that would fit and keep the stock length. Any info will be appreciated.

You can purchase both MC and Booster from majority of the Auto Suppliers. I purchased a MC thru a local NAPA parts supplier, this was few years back and came to about $45 new, they range in price, no exchange necessary. You can order where the holes for fittings are on either side. I did not have to replace booster, one removed from donor truck few years back still working fine. Last checked they can be kinda pricey. I have an extra on hand taken from donor truck in salvage yard, paid $30-$40 but never know what you got. You can purchase the brake line either ridgid or in rolls. I have used both and prefer the roll, easier to work with. In either case, need a quality bender and flaring tool. Comes in different dia. so measure or take old line with you. I cleaned lines from MC to Brake Manifold and reinstalled.
