Okay so I'm pretty much a complete rookie. I just bought my truck(97 F250, 4 door, short bed, xlt, off-road package, clarion deck, with 2 50 amp bass boosters, fiberglass leer cap, bolt-thru yakima rack, rhino liner) The things is absolutely cherry - purchased from a close friend who felt like being charitable and sold it to me for $10,000. The bank put it at 14+, so I figured I did okay. This guy was meticulous about everything and I want to follow suit. Much of the stuff is a no brainer - but what I am looking for is a good book(other than the owners manual) that talks about all the little nuances that surround these trucks.
Can anyone out there point me toward such a reference that they like? I'm sure I can find most answers here on the forum, but it the questions that I don't know to ask that I am most worried about.
thanks, from the cold north of Maine

Welcome to Ford Truck Enthusiasts!!
The factory service manuals are as in depth as anything else available, plus you can get them in cd or dvd media from the on line auctions pretty cheap.
And as it's been noted...you don't need to know what the question is around here. Just give a reasonably accurate description of the problem and these guys will figure it out.
iver got one of the CD manuals it takes some getting used to navigating but for wiring diagrams and all the the odd info you need all over its really good to have especially when its 2am and there no one on the board to answer a Q
i got mine off ebay i think it was $20
congrats on the new rig....the mod bug will get ya hold onto your wallet!!
You don't need no sticking manual. Just come to the forum and myself and the other GREAT guys and gals (if there are some) will help you out they have helped me ALOT.
"the mod" bug is what scares me and my wallet. Way too much fun to be had. I think the first one will be to gut the cat - easy and cheap and from what I've been reading the payback is substantial.
After that I'm planning on adding some accessories(lights, pushbar etc) and when I've got $400 to blow I'd like to do the Superchip that I've been reading about. Is that as good and easy as it sounds. Actually, better make that 600, I'm gonna need a fuzzbuster to go with it; almost got pinched last night givin 'er the shoe on the way home. Gotta love backcountry roads!!!
