Engine swaps
Have pulled the original (I think) 292 from my 64 F100 and plan to replace with a 289/302 in front of C-6 or old "granny gear" 4 speed. Any thoughts on my engine choice, mounts, tips on anything related to swap would be much appreciated. 292 was running when pulled around Christmas, has not been outside, would trade up or down for anything to facillitate the swap.

77 F250 with 390 (parts truck)
64 F100 (above, has funky old KOENIG tool bed)
01 F250 V10 4X4 (nice to pull my old fifth wheel, will be on propane, like the 78, before it's all over.)
Guess that makes me a Ford guy.

Mark- if the 292 is already out, don't put a 289/302 in its place,that won't gain you anything. How about that 76 390 in your parts truck? Then you'd have a real engine! and, if memory serves me, the FE and Y-blocks have the same bell pattern. DF
