Odd 4X4 axle ?????
Hello all i have a pretty simple question about a 75 F-250 Hi Boy i wonder if anyone may know which axles are in this pick up it is a 390 4 speed with divorced transfer case altho it is 3/4 ton and has 8 lug wheel the axle tubes are awfully small in diameter like a ford 8.8 which i thought is odd for a 3/4 ton 4x4 which is normaly pretty heavy duty and the front axle knuckles are encloesed in weird ball shaped housing like on a tractor ore real old 4by if anyone has any idea on what axles these could be please post thanks in advance for any help on this subject

Sounds like a standard Dana 44 closed knuckle.

Ditto on the closed knuckle Dana 44 call.
If your knuckles ain't bleeding you did something wrong.

Odd 4X4 axle ?????
That front axle sounds like the standard front axle on a Highboy. It is a Dana 6CF, basically just a heavy duty Dana 44.
