The headers on my 75 F-250 4X4 Hi Boy are pretty rotted out and i want to install new ones but the ones that are on go around the motor mount which means lifting the motor on each side to install them are all headers for these trucks like this or are there certain brands that dont require this fiasco for installing them ?
I tried Hedmans that required jacking up the engine, and then Dynomax that installed pretty easily but had sleeve coupling on passenger side that always leaked, not to mention the habitual gasket leaks at the heads on both of them.
However, just installed a set of Sanderson's FF390 shorty headers, and they were as easy as stock manifolds. Nice detail on the head-to-header surface should preclude any more leaks there, no gasket required! And no interference with the starter whatsoever, whooppee! They are a bit expensive tho. For some reason, Sanderson didn't list that particular header on their web-site, but my friendly muffler shop put me on to it. Good Luck.
