I am looking for a frame to work with my old 79 F150 4x4, the frame was twisted and frame shop says its too bad to fix. Myuts be sold with title, and either in west texas, anywhere in new mexico, or in southwestern colorado. I am interested in a "roller" ready to be pulled home behind my truck. Any leads are apriciated. I did check junk yards, but they only sell the frame outright, not with the title. Eric
Eric if you get a bill of sales with the frame and keep all your receipts you can get a builders Title .. In Missouri anyways may be something for you to check into .
Trouble
With a builder title it has to pass emissions for the year it was built, that would be 2001, a 1978 351M with not smog crap, is not likely to help in that emissions test.
Just use the title from your current truck, I think all that matters is the body on the truck, not what frame it is on. At least that is how it is here in Maryland.
I'll check into that, the Junk Yard guys told me there is a frame tag that has to be verified if the truck hasn't been registered for more than a year. Eric
Here in Michigan, the Sec. of State, doesn't need to even look at the truck, the mis match would only be discovered if there was a concern about the ownership or if it was stolen, etc. Just keep your receipt, chances are you won't have any problems so long as the vin checks on the cab. You intentions are legitimate.
