Has anyone had a problem with accessories remaining on after turning off your key and removing it? My blower motor runs after turning off the truck.I can turn it off with the climate control switch. Another problem that just started is that the wipers started to only work occassionally? The map lgts. were the first to stop working.
There is a TSB #16928 issued for various intermittent electrical concerns. This didn't help any.
The owners manual isn't very clear as to which relay does what? If anybody could help with a relay number or ?????????????
Thanks for any help, Frank

Are there any aftermarket components installed on the truck, such as a stereo or alarm system? Has the electrical system ever been modified in any way?
Frank has it been raining there?
Usually what you're describing is caused by water in the fuse box and GEM (Generic Electronic Module) which attaches to the back of the fuse box. The water shorts across the terminals inside the fuse box so the ones that are supposed to have power when the key is on have power all the time. The heater staying on is the most common sign. The water getting in is usually caused by a leaking windshield. The cure is to get the windshield resealed and replace the fuse box and sometimes the GEM.
Thanks for the replies. Yes I have had an after market alarm/remote starter installed, but had no trouble for about a year and a half afterward.
I also have had the windshield replaced but as far as I know it does not leak.
I am an electrician so I do have some knowledge of relays and how they act when they start going bad ,which is why I am thinking a couple of relays might be bad. The problem I'm having is knowing which relays to check? The manual only lists fuse numbers ,the relays are not mapped out. I even picked up a "Haynes" manual with no luck there either.
I guess I'll check for leaks and see if I can come up with a better schematic or wiring diagram that actually lists the relays? Thanks.

Most remote start systems have a plug on the module that you could unplug when the problem it happening to see if it changes any.
The heater has a relay in the same box as the signal flasher, to the right of the throttle pedal. If you turn on the signals you should be able to follow the sound to find it. The trigger side of the relay get's it's signal from the heater control. If you remove fuse 24 under the dash the heater control will be dead so the relay should be off. If you check fuse 24 with the ignition off while the problem is happening you can see if it has power or not. With the ignition off it shouldn't, unless the fuse box is shorted inside.

Racerguy, thanks for the time and the info. I could not find a location for the blower relay in any literature that I have. I am going to check it out right now,I'll tell you what I find.
Frank
I did find the blower relay ,but of course the thing is working fine now.I'll wait and see if it happens again. I also changed the internal lamp relay, which fixed the rear side compartment lgts. I must have a bad wire to the map lights, they still dont work.
thanks again for the help.
