Question about torque setting?????
The Haynes Manual for my '87 F250, 300 I-6 lists a torque setting of 17 to 23 Ft-lbs for the "rocker arm stud nut." Then it lists a setting of 4.5 to 15 ft-lbs for the "rocker arm stud nut breakaway torque." What is "breakaway torque?"
The two different settings and not knowing what breakaway torque is makes me uncertain as to how to torque my stud nuts. If somebody can explain this to me, I'll appreciate it.
