Rear Springs

Rear Springs
I'm thinking of getting a newer truck here in a June, specifically a 1997 F250 Heavy Duty 4x4. What I have right now is a 1995 F250 4x2. I was wondering if anyone thinks its possible to take the rear springs out of my 95 and put them in a 97? They are heavier than regular 250 springs, so I want to keep them.
Thanks,
Mike

As far as I can figure, the difference is that there were light duty 97s with the 7 bolt axles, and then the heavy duty 97s that had the older body style with 8 bolt axles. The "Heavy Duty" just meant the different style. The difference here is that my truck has what are essentially F350 springs in the back instead of regular F250 springs.

7 bolt axles? no....
The F-250 and F-350 ran until late 97'. The new superduties started in early 99'. AFAIK, there is no official 98' model.
The 92-97 models are pretty much the same.
There were light duty and heavy duty F-250s. Both had 8 lug axles, one difference was that the light duty version had a semi-floating rear axle where as the heavy duty version had a full floating axle.
The body style was the same, no difference there. The different body style is the model change between 97' and 99'.
The "heavy duty" didn't mean a different style...
Your truck does not have F-350 springs in it.
