Done lots of searching but can't seem to come up with any solid answers. The numbers are from the sticker on the door jamb...truck is an 81 F-150 originally 300 I6 but changed to a 302 at some point prior to purchase. Fully aware that trans. and rear may not be original, just wondering what it had to start out with.
Shifter **** indicates 3sp/OD with reverse being to the right and down...cover plate welded over what appears to be original shifter cut out on floor and new hole hacked in closer to center of hump and a little further forward...appears to have granny 1st with shifter bumping the dash in 1st(nice little rusty scrape mark,lol)...thanks for any help you guys can offer...just no time at the moment to crawl under and scrape away grime to investigate further.
Hey, thanks alot, appreciate the info. After looking a little closer it's appearing I've got an NP-435 in there. PTO cover on passenger side and sure feels like a truck trans. 4.11 huh...weird, for some reason I was sure it had a 2.75 rear since it originally came with the 300 I6...no tags of any kind on the pumpkin. Not able at this time to jack up the rear and compare drveshaft revs/wheel revs, possibly next week after I get back from a cross country U-Haul adventure for a relative. Thanks again for the reply.
