blinker issues

i dont know if anyone else has had this problem but it started a little while ago.when i hit my signal (left or right) both rears flash but the fronts are fine and work normal.now here comes the crazy part.as soon as i brake they stop flashing.i was thinking mabye a short some where.it has to be a wireing issue.what do you guys think??

have you checked the fluid? Joke.


The problem is most likley going to be in the rear wiring harness of the truck, that goes along the left frame rail. I bet that the left and right turn signal wires are shorted together somewhere along here.

the easiest thing to do is unplug the harnesses at the connectors remove the suspected harness from the truck and check for continuity. also checking for cross continuity, between wires (which it should not have.) When you find a problem, unwrap the "electrical tape" that binds them together, end from end, Replace wires or repair them, (soldering and shrink tubing is my prefered method), then re-wrap the harness with electrical tape, and flex tubing so the same problem won't happen again.

Takes a couple of hours, and you have a new looking freshly wrapped harness, that's fully inspected for any problems.
