Right angle oil filter adapter

Do the 460s have a removable pipe nipple in the block, they would have a nut hex on them if they were removable, or a pressed in pipe nipple?
I ask because I acquired an angle adapter and the threaded fitting is threaded all the way on the inside with the same thread as the oil filter, but the outside is smooth at one end to fit in the adapter, and threaded at the other end with a larger diameter thread.
When I put it together off the engine the hollow bolt thread goes right to the end of the nut.
So do these thread on to the block pipe nipple, or does the nut thread into the block? Thanks.

the block is threaded, some have a hex on them so you can get a wrench on them and some are smooth and are a little harder to get out but they can be removed. It's not really pipe thread I believe it's just standard coarse threads in the block.

the adapter that goes in the block may be very tight, I had to use a 1/2" impact wrench on mine, but it came out. Then you just screw in the correct adapter for your angle filter, mine has two ports for the engine oil cooler. If your fitting does not have a hex head, a large easy-out will probably work, but you run the risk of getting small pieces of metal in the oil galley/block. Shove a small rag into the fitting before you try to easy-out it.

Just a thought. Good luck.

to get the ones out that don't have a hex head I use a hammer and chisel on the side to turn it in a counter clockwise rotation or an air hammer with a chisel bit works pretty good to and not as much chance of getting metal into the opening. But if you do happen to get a little into that opening it's not a big worry as that is directly from the pump so the first place it will go is the filter, not that I ever recommend leaving metal in an engine but it's not something that I would stress about in that case.

hopefully old farmer's isn't as tight as mine was, an air hammer would never have worked. I was really sweating it when I had my impact hammering on that thing, I was lucky to get it out. But otherwise, a chisel or good air hammer would work
