98 Expedition Power Door Lock Problem

Has anyone had a problem with the power door locks? Our front passenger lock stopped locking/unlocking, however, there is power going to it, but it just grinds and doesn't unlock. When unlocking it with the key, you have to jiggle the key back and forth before it "gives" and unlocks.

Husband took the door panel off and couldn't figure out what was wrong.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

I would look toward the power door lock actuator . It is a small cylinder with pleated boot on top with a rod conecting it to the door latch NAPA has them # 52-2022 for about $47.00.
