I hope everybody is alright after yesterdays violent weather. Looks like Lawrence,KS got hammered pretty good. No classes at Kansas St. today. Over 60% off the buildings on campus were heavily damged. Might be no classes for several days. I was hearing the reports off 80MPH winds an baseball size hail. The stories will sure come in today from the damage. Hope everybody is still around. Manmother nature sure can hit us hard at times. Just a Nebraska guy checking on my Kansas friends.
Saw allot of coverage on the news, mostly downed limbs. One guy had a total loss of house, 2 trucks and a car totalled, one on his roof.... and he was making FEMA jokes on the news.
we didnt have hardly anything here in manhattan so i actaully slept through all that happend here. i was put on watch all afternoon for storm spotting but i never got a call... i want to chase a tornado sometime soon
Must have been the wine cellar. lol We had some hail here sunday out north of town by the lake. I saw it because the wife picked some up and put it in the freezer. Some were about size of a quarter. I didn't see it because I was in Lincoln, NE at the swap meet.
Here in Olathe we didn't get any bad weather, and just a little rain. The sireeens went off once in the morning and then later in the day. It was hectic the first time gettting all the dogs down in the basement. They heard the sirens go off and of course they went off too. WE were kinda unprepared with themn as we had to put the crates down there then move the dogs into the crates, and they got all excited, jumping around acting stupid. So they stayed down there for a long while. But everything else was OK. Just another spring day in KS.
