I am runinng the K&N fipk system, BUT plan to adapt the kwik filter to the fipk tube. I want to just keep the K&N filter as a back up. I feel the kwik my filter better, and doen't use any oil.
Haven't done the switch from K&N to Kwik yet, just can't get my lazy butt out there.
I completely understand. I have a nice, shiny, new ATS housing to cure the dreaded turbo surge my truck suffers. Haven't had the time, so my cure is - to stay out of the throttle...
Not much of a solution, but it will have to do until I have the time.
Dale Isley. TYMAR performance. Originally went on the market back in the summer of 2001 I think, but his ideas and testing are documented in the various online forums quite a bit earlier than that.
I wasn't making any accusations. Simply pointing out that "kwikfilter" is the locally accepted name for a home made TYMAR.
Over at TDS, it's been called the homemade or DIY tymar for as long as I can remember. Over here, it's been called the Kwik filter ever since Kwik sort of brought it to everyone's attention at this site. It's funny how different groups can have different common names for the same thing.
I have the 6637. Don't know how I could go back to any other. Gotta love the sound of air. Installed in less the 20 minutes. Same one for on for 25000 miles and still looks good. Guess I should put a new one just because they are very reasonably priced. Oh yea, It is still my "Kwik Mod". I don't care who thought of it first.
Good move. The AIS wasn't available when I bought my truck. But I immediately replaced the stock leako-filter box with a Tymar system. Flawless seal and better filtering than the stock element.
