just curious to see what type of air filter everyone uses and if you feel so inclined let us know what difference, if any, it makes or why you use it..

I am using a True Flow oiled foam filter now. I have noticed a lil more pep. Supposedly oiled foam is supposed to be very good. The lip around the filter is so thick that I had to disconnect the tube from the airbox lid and install the lid first and them put the tube back on. so its got a tight fit.

I have a 6637 filter now - I took out my AFE stage 1 and sold it to my buddy.

I used to have a K&N filter but I heard the oiled filters foam up because the diesel sucks more air than the gassers. I also heard that they can seperate and let unfiltered air in to the engine. This may not be true but thats why I switched to the tymar intake.

Thumbs up

I almost went with a K&N(caught up in the high dollar advertisments), then I found FTE. I went with a Kwik filter-inexpensive and very effective.

I use the 6637, and adapted the original FilterMinder.

I think it's one heckuva good application, but I wish it had a little more "protection", so I'll eventually get a OuterWear cover for it, (if space permits).

When I get a Round Tuit! ;-)))

I have always used the stock MotorCraft filter in mine. 7.3L, 155k trouble-free miles, and good mpg's also.
