The Original Ford Highboy
All the constant discussion of Highboys in the 73-79 forum has triggered my posting of this thread

So, here is some good reading on a project that I had the pleasure of having a very minor influence on, that has a team member with an completely retored 30 Hi-boy, right down to the original flathead engine

Now,
This is the Bonneville car out of Calgary trying to break a record.

These are 2 friends of mine Father & Son (you may remember the Santa 28 Model A I rode in? )
You can read their story beside the pic on the other link.

Sue ..Mikes wife has got to be the most supportive wife I have ever known and is great person to listen to as she is such a positive role model.
Marilyn...Don's wife has always Just let Don do his thing... as she is going to do her thing.
These friends are a TRUE example of being a cool FORD Family.
I'll see if I can get Mike to register to FTE and share his comments.
I know Don won't...he is too busy being a kid

I make my living with my 30 year old truck, and as such, it wants a lot of attention :-)
Living in Burnaby doesn't help either.. I belong in Maple Ridge or Langley or Abbotsford, considering all the trucks like mine with gals in them that I see in those places

nice one .. :-) I do a lot of carpentry and renovation work in the Lower Mainland, including a project I've been doing in Kitsilano since October 1st.
Burnaby is central for me, not long to get anywhere from here.. live near the sprott exit of Highway 1. I know I can get to pick-a-part in Chilliwack in about 45 minutes hehehehe
And for what it's worth, I had my first date last night with a charming gal in the west end, and the truck didnt scare her away (.. at least I dont think it did!)

Hi Dennis.
Thanks for the introduction, and invitation.
How come when I registered there was no choice of "A" for the model of my ford?

My truck is running a little ugly after I smacked it up a bit, but I already picked up another Grille and fender to deal with it, just gotta do it :-)
I have a need for Tires, A rebuilt Bendix Steering Control Valve for my Power Assist Steering, not to mention a tailshaft bushing. Oh yeah, The pinion off my rear D60 leaks, and it's not the seal; changed it twice.. driver's side window regulator toast, but I have the parts. Need a steering column and a replacement steering shaft. Top it off with installing my new dash pad and finishing the interior, and I might feel better about letting this girl INTO my truck. Also can't spend all my time doing the work, you know how it is..
Thankfully the Body and Chassis are otherwise great, all new shocks, rear springs, brakes, rad, tranny was beefed up, all new ball joints, new front u joints, large Warn Hubs are in great condition, so I'm willing to spend a couple grand to finish the deal. If I stopped now, it would be worse, considering the time and money invested. What I need is a sponsor !
The truck did haul from Halifax to Vancouver with 1,000lbs of Cargo last March through an 'Alberta Clipper' after being thrown together in three months. (First AOD I tried was a dud) Other than that the truck has earned me a lot of money since, and starts every day. It has not left me stranded once.
I think this project will take me TO my retirement
(definitly if i keep gabbing at this rate)

Hey Everyone say Hi to Mikey, he likes everything

It took you long enough to sign up .

Some users here can benefit from your Intelligent background.
So.....
No A or EH for a model ?
Was there a Model A Truck ?

Eddie is a Model A Roadster Pickup as is 1149.

The standard A truck is more like Al Kerrisons pickup, with the "phone booth" style cab.
I always thought you were old enough to remember these things.
