I just got back from the pick-n-pull and saw a couple 73-79 trucks with chrome drip rails. The chrome part was separate but looked like it clipped on over the basic steel drip rails. Well, clipped on and glued or something because they were pretty secure.
I have painted steel drip rails on my Supercab and would like chrome drip rails, but don't want to go through grinding them off and welding new ones on. Is there a way I can get chrome drip rails that clip on over the steel ones?
Take an old stainless steel bottle/can opener with the Flat on one end & Pointed on the other end with you.
To put them on your truck........start by putting them on at the curved part and use your thumb and wrist pressure with a small soft rubber to install them going each direction from the curve.
Oh can I actually take those off and put them on my truck? Is it that easy? From the other threads I read here I figured getting new drip rails on my truck would be a pain in the butt!
New drip rails would be a pain in the butt! The chrome trim peices are not so much pain, you can buy these new at a couple of the site sponsors too. -Ed
