the highboys have a 4" or so lift block in the rear. I think I read somewere that some had a 2-3" block back there, but from the ones ive seen in person, they are all factory 4" blocks.

a "highboy" is any 67-77.5 f-2504x4, they all have 4 inch blocks out back, narrow rear frame, divorced t-case, and gas tank behind the seat

All 73-77.5 F-250 4x4s are highboys.
Also, they don't have a 4" lift, but they come from the factory about 2" higher than late 77-79 F-250 4wds. Which is why they are called highboys, they're high.

I have one i have not measured the rea block but i do know they will hold 35 " ties with out any additional lift which is real cool. if it is high and has not been lifted it is a highboy more than likely..

The only true way of telling whether or not it is a highboy is not the blocks, many low boys have 4" blocks as well, you have to look at the width of the rear springs. The high boys come with 2 1/2 inch rear leafs while the lowboys come with 3" rear springs. This is straight from the skyjacker manufacturer.
