Need help on lowering a 96' Explorer

I am planning on lowering my explorer tommorrow and i need to know if this is right.

I am pretty sure that it has torsion bars up front.

I was planning on getting some 2" lowering blocks putting them in the rear and just crank down the torsion bars until it's sitting level.

I've dropped plenty of vehicles but never an SUV.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome Xon22!

If you are 2wd - yes - all you have to do is install the blocks and loosen the torsion bar bolts. With 2" blocks, my suggestion is to remove the torsion bolts all the way and then reinstall to the correct height you are looking for. Makes it a lot easier to get the height right from side to side.

And of course get an alignment after you are done. The shop will probably have to put some cambers in to get the alignment right. Almost everyone I know (including me) has had to do this to get the alignment correct...
